Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Both hemp and marijuana are types of cannabis plants. The big difference between them is that marijuana can have high levels of the psychoactive substance THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), while hemp plants have less than 0.3% (by dry weight) of THC. Marijuana remains illegal under the federal Controlled Substances Act, while hemp and hemp-derived CBD are not after the 2018 Farm Bill was passed. However, some states and in certain cases counties and cities may prohibit the sales of hemp and hemp products.
